Phnom Penh: Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC) is studying to build a new subway stretching about 500 meters below National Road 5 to ease traffic in this area.
Mr. Touch Samnang, Deputy General Director of OCIC, said on the morning of February 14 that the company is currently studying the impact to the people in the area regarding the subway construction below National Road 5 The road is located in front of the former Sokimex gas station and runs through National Road 5, with a length of between 400 meters and 500 meters.
“The subway along National Road 5 will be big enough to have car road and a motorway. The road would be able to complete the construction at the same time with the cable bridges connecting to Chroy Changvar land if it resolves the problem with the people in time,” he said.
However, according to Touch Samnang, the budget for the tunnel is not yet known, because the budget does not combine with the cable construction of the cable bridge to Chroy Changva area.
