Phnom Penh: The Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and the Minister of Information expressed their support to promote the 15th Cambodia International Gems and Jewelery Fair 2024 for the public to know more.
In a meeting with Lok Chumteav Pheung Sakona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, Mr. Chhay Sinat, Secretary General of Cambodian Gems and Jewelry Traders Association , spoke about the history of participating in this fair and the growth of this sector in Cambodia at a time when people’s lives are improving and understanding the use of Cambodian jewelry and gems more than ever.
He also mentioned the promotion of the jewelry market for export, as well as the promotion of Cambodian gems and jewelry products more widely.
Separately, in a meeting with Mr. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information on December 6, Mr. Chhay Sinat respectfully requested the Minister’s recommendation to prepare for the 15th Cambodia International Gems and Jewelery Fair in 2024, which will be held from March 21 to 24, 2024 at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center.
The exhibition will be attended by traders, jewelry companies and companies in various sectors such as banking, automobile, telephone, real estate and other related sectors.
Mr. Chhay Sinat informed that after failing to organize the exhibition for 4 years due to Covid-19, We decided to re-organize the exhibition in March 2024 at Koh Pich Center in Phnom Penh to show the potential as well as attract foreign investors and visitors from many countries to come to this exhibition.
He added that in addition to the exhibition, there is also a crown auction of the International Miss ‘s Jewelry and Gems program.
The Minister of Information, Mr. Neth Pheaktra, stated that the Ministry of Information supports cooperation in disseminating information to make the public more aware of the events of the 15th Cambodia International Gems and Jewelery Fair 2024 at the end of March 2024, in response to the request for support of Cambodian Gems and Jewelry Traders Association.
The Minister provided some recommendations to Cambodian Gems and Jewelry Traders Association to ensure that the preparation process works well with the cooperation of the relevant ministries, institutions, to review and evaluate for success.
In addition, the association must set up a media team, coordinators with journalists, and provide information related to the organization of the exhibition in all aspects so that the dissemination can be in-depth and get the support of the public.
Cambodia, one of the world’s most famous natural gemstone destinations, is ready to promote and develop through the “Cambodia International Gems and Jewelery Fair “, a prominent Cambodian trade event as before.
This event was initially managed and organized by the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, which started in 2009 and has been consistently successful from time to time.
As the growth and development of the country has steadily increased, the Ministry has also handed over full control of the event to Cambodian Gems and Jewelry Traders Association from 2015 to the present.
