Phnom Penh: H.E. Mr. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, is invited to preside over the inauguration ceremony of the first direct flight between Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and Phnom Penh, the Kingdom of Cambodia, by the world-class airline Etihad Airways, starting October 3, 2025, with the participation of H.E. Mr. Obaid Saeed Obaid Bintaresh Aldhaheri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Cambodia, H.E. Mr. Chea Aun, Minister of State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, H.E. Mr. Hun Saroeun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, Lok Oknha Charles Van, Director of Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd. (CAIC), His Excellency, Ambassadors, and His Excellencies, leaders from state and private institutions, nearly 200 distinguished guests at the Rosewood Hotel in Phnom Penh.
In his congratulatory remarks on this milestone for the tourism and civil aviation sectors, H.E. Minister emphasized that the presence of this international airline is not only an air connection between Phnom Penh and Abu Dhabi, but also a strong bridge of friendship, cooperation, and shared prosperity between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as bringing Cambodia, its tourism and investment potential to the people of the United Arab Emirates apart and to the people of the Middle East in general.
It is to note that Etihad Airways is an international airline of the United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates) based in Abu Dhabi. The company was established in 2003 and has been a key part in transforming Abu Dhabi into an international aviation hub. This world-class airline operates four direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Phnom Penh per week, every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
