Kampot. H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Mao Thonin, Governor of Kampot Province, presided over an obstacle race under the theme “Run for Green Tourism on Bokor Mountain” on 4 October 2026 on Bokor Mountain, Kampot Province.

The race was part of the Coastal Green Season Tourism Event 2026, held over three days from 2 to 4 October in Kampot Province, with participation from Cambodia’s other coastal provinces—Kep, Preah Sihanouk, and Koh Kong.

Organized by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Kampot Provincial Administration, the event aimed to promote green tourism destinations and sports tourism, while improving the livelihoods of local communities.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. the Minister highlighted Kampot’s rich and diverse tourism potential. He emphasized that the race sought to raise international awareness of tourism destinations across Cambodia’s four coastal provinces—Kampot, Kep, Preah Sihanouk, and Koh Kong—and encourage visitors from around the world to experience them.

H.E. the Minister added that the race formed part of the Coastal Green Season Tourism Event 2026, which featured numerous attractions, including a cooking competition and an exhibition of local products.

He further emphasized that the peace secured through the immense sacrifices of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister, has enabled Cambodia to develop across all sectors. Under the continued leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, the country continues to safeguard peace for the nation and its people and advance national development, particularly in tourism.
