Siem Reap. The 11th Angkor Empire Marathon will take place on 2 August 2026, starting at 4:10 a.m., in front of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap Province. The event is expected to attract a large number of domestic and international participants, including an estimated 150 visitors from China.
This remarkable event will be held during Cambodia’s lush Green Season, coinciding with the implementation of the Kingdom’s visa exemption policy for Chinese citizens.
The international marathon will help promote sports tourism, boost Cambodia’s tourism industry, and showcase the Kingdom to the world as a safe, welcoming, and hospitable travel destination.
It is also worth noting that the Angkor Empire Marathon has been recognized by Forbes as one of the 12 marathon events worth participating in during 2026.
