Siem Reap. With the approval of the Royal Government of Cambodia, H.E.HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tourism Cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Cuba, represented by H.E. Ms. Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Cambodia, in Siem Reap Province.
This Memorandum of Understanding marks an important milestone in establishing a framework for cooperation between the tourism authorities of the two countries. It aims to promote tourism development, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience, and diversify Cambodia’s tourism markets into Latin America, based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit.
It is worth noting that Cambodia and Cuba established diplomatic relations in 1960. As of 2026, the two countries have enjoyed 66 years of diplomatic friendship and cooperation.
