Siem Reap: His Excellency HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over the medal presentation ceremony for athletes and participants who successfully completed a 14-kilometer trek in Jayavarman-Norodom “Phnom Kulen” National Park, Siem Reap Province, as part of the “Journey to the Birthplace of the Angkorian Capital” event.
This meaningful event was organized to connect sports with tourism by encouraging exploration of natural beauty, historical and cultural heritage, and local community livelihoods, as well as promoting solidarity and a culture of sharing. The event drew large participation from around 800 national and international tourists.
With support from the Ministry of Tourism, the event was co-organized by the Siem Reap Provincial Gendarmerie under the leadership of Brigadier General Sear Tin, Commander of the Siem Reap Provincial Gendarmerie and the Temple Group, with contributions from the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, relevant ministries and institutions, and corporate sponsors.
Notably, the program was also held to celebrate the major Angkor Equinox event from September 21 to 23, 2026. Proceeds collected from participation fees will be donated to the Angkor Hospital for Children to support medical check-ups and treatment for Cambodian children.
This trekking adventure on Phnom Kulen is an attractive tourist route offering fresh experiences for visitors who enjoy adventure, nature, and cultural-historical heritage.
