Siem Reap: H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of
Tourism, presided over the “EQUINOX ANGKOR RUN—Run for Tourism,” organized to witness the spectacular Angkor Equinox, when the sun rises directly over the central tower of Angkor Wat.
This major sports tourism event brought together H.E. NGOV Sengkak, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province, representing H.E. PRAK Sophoan , Governor of Siem Reap Province; leaders; national and international tourists; youth; local residents; content creators; and sports enthusiasts, totaling 10,355 participants.
Speaking at this magnificent event, the Minister emphasized that it was not merely a run for health but also a run with a shared purpose: to promote Cambodia’s culture, civilization, heritage, natural beauty, and warm hospitality to the world.
The event also demonstrated the strength of solidarity and cooperation among the Royal Government, local authorities, the private sector, tourism industry associations, local communities, and tourists—all working together to enhance the prestige and attractiveness of Cambodia as a tourism destination.
On this occasion, the Minister called upon participants, content creators, journalists, influencers, and KOLs to promote the event and Cambodia’s tourism potential under the spirit of:“10,000 People—10,000 Photos—10,000 Messages.”.
The Minister also encouraged all stakeholders to continue sharing positive stories about Cambodia, actively combat fake news, and refrain from disseminating negative information that could harm the nation’s reputation and Cambodia’s tourism sector.
This spectacular event offered participants an exceptional experience, unforgettable memories, and an opportunity to admire the magnificent beauty of the Angkor Equinox—a special natural phenomenon that occurs twice a year, in March and September.
