Siem Reap. Cambodia’s Reputation and Tourism Potential Take Center Stage at GX Summit 2026 in Siem Reap, Establishing Long-Term Tourism Cooperation Between Cambodia and Global Tourism Company G Adventures.
With the high approval of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over and delivered the opening remarks at GX Summit 2026. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Bruce Poon Tip, Co-Founder of G Adventures; H.E. Ngov Sengkak, Representative of the Governor of the Siem Reap Provincial Administration; Lok Chumteav Chhay Sivlin, President of the Cambodian Association of Travel Agents (CATA); Excellencies and Lok Chumteavs from the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism; members of G Adventures; GX Summit 2026 delegates from every continent across the globe; as well as more than 700 national and international distinguished guests.
Speaking at this international event, H.E. the Minister extended a warm welcome to all international delegates who had travelled from around the world to the Kingdom of Cambodia and expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Bruce Poon Tip and the G Adventures team for choosing Cambodia as the host of GX Summit 2026. This international event has brought significant benefits to the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Cambodian people. It has contributed to enhancing Cambodia’s reputation and image on the international stage, showcasing the country’s rich tourism potential, while also reflecting Cambodia’s genuine political, economic, and social environment of peace and stability under the sound and visionary leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia. This world-class event has also created a favorable environment for tourism, investment, and business, while generating income and stimulating economic activities for businesses, hotels, restaurants, local communities, and the Cambodian people through delegates’ accommodation, travel, tourism services, and spending throughout the event.
On this occasion, Mr. Bruce Poon Tip, Founder of G Adventures, highlighted his strong commitment to Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, to bring to the world the positive experiences of Cambodia’s tourism potential, accommodation, and the warm hospitality extended by the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Cambodian people, which he and all delegates experienced firsthand during their stay in Cambodia. He further affirmed that G Adventures will continue to bring the world to Cambodia by expanding global promotion efforts and bringing more international travellers from around the world to experience Cambodia’s tourism potential, cultural heritage, and warm hospitality, while directly supporting local communities through tourism.
At the same time, H.E. the Minister outlined three key recommendations to further advance Cambodia’s tourism sector towards greater sustainability, resilience, and inclusiveness, in line with the vision of the Royal Government of Cambodia and global tourism development trends:
promote sustainable tourism and tourism recovery through support for local communities, traditional handicrafts, green investment, and the conservation of cultural and natural heritage.invest in resilience, innovation, and human capital by leveraging technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), strengthening skills in the hospitality sector, and promoting inclusive opportunities for the Cambodian people.
strengthen long-term cooperation with G Adventures, international tour operators, investors, and development partners to develop new tourism products, attract investment, and expand long-term tourism cooperation.
In closing, H.E. the Minister emphasized that GX Summit 2026 will serve as an important platform for exchanging ideas, building trust, and strengthening partnerships among the Royal Government, the private sector, tourism operators, and international partners to jointly develop a more responsible, resilient, and sustainable tourism sector. H.E. the Minister also invited all international delegates to help promote the authentic image of Cambodia to the world as a country of peace, stability, warm hospitality, and rich cultural and natural heritage.
