3,000 Buddhists and monks to gather on Bokor Mountain to raise money for the Buddha statue construction

Kampot: About 3,000 Buddhists and monks from 25 Provinces-Capital will march to the top of Bokor Mountain at 500 rice fields to raise fund for the construction of the 108-meter-tall Buddha statue on the mountain ridge.

This great Solidarity Flower Festival (Bonn Phka Prak Samaki) will be held from September 23 to 24, 2023, with the initiative of Preah Vimol Sorn Nhean Chan Visal and Preah Chao Athikar of Wat Preah Si Serey Mongkul, collaborating generously and intellectually with Neak Oknha Dr. Sok Kong.To make contribution to the construction of this 108-meter-tall Buddha statue, Buddhists may have the opportunity to capture the merits and participate in the construction of this great Buddha with generosity.In particular, all Buddhists can capture the merits by purchasing small Buddha statues with 0.31 meters high, 0.25 meters long, and 0.165 meters wide, and can write their names, the names of the benefactors, grandparents, nieces, and nephews to receive merits and also placed in the basement under the giant Buddha statue to be a long history for all generations to be revered.

Neak Oknha Dr. Sok Kong has a clear vision and generosity in building this 108-meter-tall Buddha statue with large and small Buddha statues to dedicate the merits that we have done in this lifetime. The giant Buddha statue represents the preservation of the national identity of religious culture in the era of peace and development.
