Ryhyat, On the occasion of leading a high-level delegation of the Ministry of Tourism to attend UN Tourism-26th General Assembly in Riyadh capital, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; H.E. Mr. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, held a highl-level working discussions and exchanged insightful view with H.E. Mrs. Suanesavanh Vignaket, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and esteemed colleagues.
In a fruitful and in-depth meeting, the two sides agreed to request for the high-level permission of the top leaders of the two countries to upgrade the existing tourism cooperation to a deeper and more active level, with the common goal and interests of both peoples to attract more national and international tourists to visit the two countries by strengthening cooperation in the tourism sector within the regional and sub-regional frameworks such as ASEAN, GMS, CLMV, ACMECS; organizing tourism promotion events, especially in border provinces; examining the possibility of connecting direct flights between major cities and tourist destinations between Cambodia and Laos; arranging for private parties in the tourism sector of the two countries to meet and discuss to create tour packages; and examining the possibility of creating a tour route between Angkor Wat and Wat Phu, both of which are World Heritage Sites.
