Sihanuokville, The Ministry of Tourism, in Collaboration with the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration, Organizes a Sensitization Workshop on “Strengthening Building for Preparing Koh Rong City to become a Smoke-Free Tourism City” in Koh Rong City, Preah Sihanouk Province.

His Excellency Hor Sarun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism and Head of the Smoke-Free Environment Working Group, representing His Excellency Hout Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over the opening ceremony of the sensitization workshop on “Strengtening Building for Koh Rong City to become a Smoke-Free Tourism City.” The event was attended by Mr. Sous Sereisousdey, Deputy Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, national working groups from the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Health, development partners, the Provincial Department of Tourism, relevant provincial departments, provincial, municipal, and sangkat administrations, municipal offices, the municipal police inspectorate, the gendarmerie command, the two types of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces command, sangkat police post chiefs, and representatives from tourism business and service establishments, totaling approximately 100 participant.
The workshop focused on several key objectives:
Enhancing understanding of the impacts of tobacco smoke and the principles of a smoke-free tourism city.
Strengthening the implementation capacity of municipal and sangkat administrative officials, security forces, and relevant stakeholders. Encouraging tourism businesses to participate in creating a clean and healthy environment.
