       Siem Reap , On the morning of December 6, 2025, and following a joint discussion during a courtesy call and working meeting on August 11, 2025, H.E. Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Mr. Igor Driesmans, Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia, led a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism and the European Union to Cambodia to visit, examine, and assess the tourism potential, challenges, and investment opportunities of the Prek Toal ecotourism community located in the Tonle Sap Lake biodiversity zone in Prek Toal village, Koh Chiwang commune, Ek Phnom district, Battambang province.

During this important and insightful visit, H.E. Minister and H.E. Ambassador met, listened to requests, and provided recommendations to local people, community members, conservation teams, and local authorities on the actual community situation, daily life, tourism service activities, as well as the results of the EU’s past Tonle Sap biosphere reserve conservation projects, as well as the challenges that exist.
