Phnom Penh, On the afternoon of January 2, 2026, H.E. Mr. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, granted H.E. Mr. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India, and his esteemed colleagues a courtesy call to meet and express New Year greetings and discuss work on further promoting bilateral tourism cooperation between Cambodia and India more actively for the New Year 2026 at the Ministry’s headquarter.

During the fruitful meeting, H.E. Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the good cooperation and close cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and the Indian Embassy in Cambodia that helped achieve the positive results, as well as the many tourism promotion events that have brought a remarkable and satisfied increase in Indian tourists in the year 2025. Meanwhile, H.E. Ambassador also highlighted the continued support of the Ministry of Tourism in the successful implementation of the three Quick Impact Project (QIP) projects for the development of eco-tourism communities supported by the Government of India in the new year.
In response, H.E. Minister thanked the Government and people of India for their unwavering support for Cambodia in all sectors, especially in the tourism sector, through the launch of the “Cambodia-India Tourism Year” and the large increase in Indian tourists visiting Cambodia in the last few months of 2025. H.E. Minister also assured H.E.
