Philippine, On the occasion of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026, His Excellency Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, received His Excellency Mr. SHI Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the ASEAN–China Centre (ACC), for a bilateral working meeting.
At the outset, His Excellency the Minister expressed his appreciation and high commendation for the cooperation with the ASEAN–China Centre, as well as for the positive outcomes achieved in the past, which have contributed to the promotion of Cambodia’s tourism sector. These include capacity-building and training programs, the organization of familiarization (FAM) trips, and the facilitation of Chinese tourists’ visits to Cambodia through Chinese tour operators.

At the same time, His Excellency the Minister informed the Chinese side of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s policy to grant visa exemption for Chinese nationals on a trial basis for a four-month period, from 15 June to 15 October 2026. He also requested the ACC to further strengthen and deepen cooperation with Cambodia to support the implementation of this pilot initiative, as well as the Cambodia–China Tourism Year 2025–2026, to ensure their success.
In response, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the ACC reaffirmed his commitment to continue enhancing tourism cooperation with Cambodia. This includes mobilizing more Chinese investors and tourists to Cambodia; organizing training programs for tour guides and other capacity-building activities based on Cambodia’s needs; supporting the implementation of activities under the framework of the Cambodia–China Tourism Year 2025–2026; promoting direct flight connectivity; and combating misinformation related to tourist safety circulating on social media.
