Phnom Penh, H.E. Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, granted H.E. Ms. Vivian Loss Sanmartin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Cambodia, and her esteemed colleagues, to pay a courtesy call and discuss on cooperation in the tourism sector at the Ministry of Tourism’s headquarter.
During the fruitful meeting, H.E. Minister welcomed and congratulated H.E. on the recent appointment of H.E. as the first resident Ambassador to Cambodia and the opening of the Embassy in Cambodia, which reflects the continuous growth of diplomatic relations and good cooperation between the two countries, which have lasted for 32 years since 1994. At the same time, H.E. Minister also highlighted the milestone of cooperation in the tourism sector between Cambodia and Brazil through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation on November 10, 2025 between the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Ministry of Tourism of the Federative Republic of Brazil. H.E Minister recommends to prepare a concrete and detailed action plan for each stage to implement the Memorandum of Understanding effectively and efficiently, aiming to promote the growth of tourists, investment in tourism and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, and to benefit the economies of both countries.
In response, H.E. Ambassador expressed her gratitude for H.E Minister’s wishes and expressed her support for the above proposal, committing to coordinate with the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism to promote a concrete action plan for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed so far, more effectively and for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.
