“Partnership between the Royal Government and the private sector is an important to promoted tourism sector

Phnom Penh,.H.E. HUOT Hak Minister of Tourism, attended the Gala Night commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the Cambodian Association of Travel Agents (CATA), under the high presidency of H.E. HUN Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service.

The 30th Anniversary Gala Night of the Cambodian Association of Travel Agents was also attended by Her Excellency Oknha Chhay Sivlin, President of the Cambodian Association of Travel Agents; Ambassadors, Foreign Ambassadors, and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Cambodia; H.E., Lok Chumteav, Oknha, officials from inter-ministerial institutions; representatives of the private sector; as well as approximately 200 national and international guests.

On this meaningful occasion, the Minister expressed his deepest gratitude to H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service, who is also President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, for his continuous initiative in organizing tourism, cultural, sports, charitable, and public events in the past. These initiatives have significantly contributed to enhancing Cambodia’s international reputation, promoting domestic tourism, and attracting more international tourists to visit Cambodia.
He also commended and highly valued the efforts of the Cambodian Association of Travel Agents (CATA), under the leadership of Her Excellency Oknha Chhay Sivlin, the Board of Directors, and all member tourism operators. The Minister emphasized that over the past 30 years, CATA has stood as a strong and loyal strategic partner of the Ministry of Tourism, working alongside it in all circumstances—both during periods of growth and during times of challenges in the tourism sector.

The Minister further highlighted that CATA’s spirit of cooperation, commitment, and active participation has been demonstrated through numerous joint activities with the Ministry of Tourism and all relevant stakeholders. These contributions have played a crucial role in building major achievements for Cambodia’s tourism sector, as well as establishing a solid foundation for its sustainable, resilient, and inclusive development.

He also stressed that this important evening event clearly reflects the close and indispensable relationship between the Ministry of Tourism and the private sector in tourism in general, and with the Cambodian Association of Travel Agents in particular.

Through past and future cooperation, the Minister expressed his strong confidence that the entire tourism family will be able to overcome difficulties together and remain united in solidarity, internal unity, and strong cooperation under the Royal Government and under the wise leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei, Prime Minister, with the aim of making tourism a key engine driving the growth of other socio-economic sectors.
