Phnom Penh, Minister of Tourism: Chinese Tourists Visiting Cambodia Will Receive Warm and Heartfelt Hospitality from the Very First Foosteps.
On the morning of June 13, 2026, H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, gave an interview to more than 11 major Chinese media outlets based in Cambodia and China regarding Cambodia’s preparations for the pilot implementation of a visa exemption policy for Chinese citizens. The pilot program will run from June 15 to October 15, 2026.
It should be noted that Chinese citizens holding PRC passports will be able to enter Cambodia without applying for a visa during the pilot period from June 15 to October 15, 2026. They will be permitted to stay for up to 14 days and will be allowed multiple entries during this period.
According to tourism statistics for 2025, Cambodia welcomed approximately 5.6 million international visitors, including more than 1.2 million Chinese tourists, representing an increase of around 42 percent compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, during the first five months of 2026, Chinese tourists ranked first among international visitor arrivals to Cambodia, reflecting the strong potential of the Chinese tourism market for Cambodia’s tourism sector.
