Ministry & Vattanac Golf Resort Continue Cooperation to Bring World-Class Golf

Phnom Penh. H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, received Neak Oknha Sam Ang Vattanac, Managing Director of Vattanac Golf Resort, for a working meeting to discuss preparations for world-class golf tourism events scheduled to take place in Cambodia in late November and early December 2026.

The meeting was also attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Tourism, representatives of the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB), as well as national and international content creators.

 

During the meeting, Neak Oknha Sam Ang Vattanac informed H.E.[9/1/2026 8:48 PM] the Minister that Vattanac Golf Resort has continued its cooperation with the Legends Tour to host two major international golf tournaments at Vattanac Golf Resort in Phnom Penh.

The first event, the Vattanac Legends Championship, will take place over a full week from 23–29 November 2026, with the official tournament rounds scheduled for 27–29 November 2026.

 

The second event, the Vattanac Tour Championship, which serves as the Season Finale of the Legends Tour, is scheduled to run for a full week from 30 November to 6 December 2026, with the official tournament rounds taking place from 4–6 December 2026.

 

Both events will bring world-class professional golf to Cambodia, along with entertainment experiences and a wide range of activities for spectators and fans. They will also further enhance Cambodia’s appeal as a promising international golf tourism destination in the region.

The Vattanac Legends Championship and Vattanac Tour Championship are expected to attract renowned international golfers, former major champions, and prominent social media influencers to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

 

Among the notable golfers expected to participate are Jamie Donaldson, who secured the winning point for Team Europe at the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, Scotland; Michael Campbell, winner of the 2005 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2; David Howell, a five-time European Tour winner; Darren Fichardt, champion of the Vattanac Legends Championship Legacy Edition 2025; and David Drysdale, champion of the Vattanac Legends Championship 2025.

 

Other distinguished golfers expected to participate include Colin Montgomerie, Stephen Gallacher, Lee Westwood, Scott Hend, Paul Lawrie, Jeev Milkha Singh, Peter Baker, Ernie Els, and Darren Clarke, among others.

The official press conference for the two tournaments is scheduled to take place on 10 September 2026.

Furthermore, the two international golf tournaments will be promoted to audiences across Asia, Europe, and the Americas through major international broadcasting networks, including Sky Sports, GOLF Channel, CANAL+, VIASAT SPORT, SuperSport, and BTV News, among others.

 

Hosting these world-class sporting events will not only contribute to the development and promotion of golf tourism in Cambodia, but will also provide an important platform to showcase Cambodia’s peace, safety, warm hospitality, rich culture, and diverse tourism potential to international tourism markets.

 

The events are also expected to contribute to attracting high-spending international visitors and further strengthen the Kingdom of Cambodia’s position as a destination for major international sporting events.
