       Phnom Penh. The visa exemption for Chinese nationals for a four-month period in 2026 represents a historic achievement, particularly within the framework of the “Cambodia–China Tourism Year 2025–2026.”.

H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over the 6th meeting to continue discussions on the mechanisms and procedures for the pilot implementation of the visa exemption for Chinese nationals, held with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The meeting was attended by H.E. the Permanent Secretary of State; H.E. KER Viseth, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Excellencies and senior leaders of the Ministry of Tourism; H.E. KIM Minea, CEO of the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB); as well as H.E. Directors General, Deputy Directors General, Department Directors, and technical officials from the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the CTB Secretariat, totaling approximately 20 participants.

According to Royal Government Notification No. 2070 SJN dated 2 December 2025, the Royal Government approved the pilot implementation of a visa exemption for Chinese nationals, granting a stay of up to 14 days during a four-month period from 15 June to 15 October 2026, without requiring a visa application or any fees, and requiring only the completion of an E-arrival card. During the validity period of this pilot implementation, Chinese tourists may enter Cambodia multiple times.

In relation to the above matter, the Ministry of Tourism has already organized five meetings with representatives of relevant ministries and institutions, including meetings with the Tourism Working Group (Group “B”), H.E. WANG Wentian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Cambodia, Cambodian embassies and consulates in China, the Economic and Financial Policy Committee, the Ministry of Interior, the General Department of Immigration, and the CTB Secretariat.
