Phnom Penh, H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, received a courtesy call from the CPG Overland team, led by Mr. Huor Chandvotthanak, Head of the Caravan Trip Team, and his colleagues, to discuss and brief him on the proposed organization of the 3rd Overland Event, which is scheduled to take place in the near future.

During the meeting, H.E. the Minister expressed his full support for the initiative, recognizing it as a high-potential activity to promote motor sports tourism and adventure tourism, while contributing to the diversification of Cambodia’s tourism products and enhancing the country’s appeal as a travel destination.

The event is expected to promote emerging tourist destinations, natural attractions, and community-based tourism sites to a wider audience. It will also stimulate domestic tourism by encouraging greater demand for accommodation, food and beverage services, transportation, and other tourism-related businesses, thereby generating income and improving the livelihoods of local communities.

At the same time, H.E. the Minister encouraged the organizing team to ensure that the event is conducted with high standards of quality, safety, and responsibility. He emphasized the importance of environmental protection, respect for local culture, traditions, and customs, as well as strengthening cooperation with local authorities, Provincial Departments of Tourism, the private sector, and local communities.

It is worth noting that the CPG Overland (Car Club) has previously organized the 1st and 2nd Northeastern Overland Events in Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri provinces, the International Off-Road Racing Event in Preah Sihanouk Province, and the Off-Road Show 2026 in Kandal Province.
