Kampong Cham. Kampong Cham Province Accelerates the Development of Key Physical Infrastructure and Tourism Support Facilities, and Promotes the Creation of Attractive New Tourism Products in Line with the “Kampong Cham Tourism Development Plan 2026–2030” to Become the Most Suitable Weekend Getaway Destination for National and International Tourists to Enjoy New, Rich, and Unforgettable Experiences!
H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, together with H.E. UN Chanda, Governor of Kampong Cham Province, presided over the dissemination ceremony to launch the implementation of the “Kampong Cham Tourism Development Plan 2026–2030.” This plan is the result of joint efforts and demonstrates the province’s determination to transform its existing potential into high value-added tourism products and experiences.
This grand morning ceremony was attended by Excellencies and Lok Chumteavs who are leaders of the Ministry of Tourism; Excellencies, Lok Chumteavs, Ladies, and Gentlemen representing relevant units and departments around the province; local authorities at all levels; all types of armed forces; uncles, aunts, brothers, and sisters who are tourism operators; tourism communities; Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) youth; and content creators totaling approximately 300 participants at the Kampong Cham Provincial Hall.
Speaking on this occasion, H.E. the Minister expressed his congratulations and praise for the many proud achievements that Kampong Cham Province has accomplished under the leadership of the Governor and provincial leaders, as well as civil servants at all levels. These tangible (hard) and intangible (soft) achievements have not only improved livelihoods and facilitated travel for citizens, but have also strengthened and expanded connectivity to major tourism destinations and economic zones, creating a more favorable environment for business, investment, andsustainable tourism development.

Concurrently, H.E. the Minister added that the provincial administration and the people of Kampong Cham Province have been actively driving development across all sectors, especially tourism, by strengthening service quality, hospitality, sanitation, aesthetics, and tourism safety aimed at increasing attractiveness and offering warmth and confidence to national and international tourists. This rapid progress has contributed to making Kampong Cham not only an attractive tourism destination, but also a strategic gateway connecting Phnom Penh to the northeastern provinces.
At the same time, H.E. the Minister noted and praised key initiatives and development projects of Kampong Cham Province that will take shape in the near future, which will further attract more national and international tourists. These include: a floating steel tourism port, a tourism hospitality center, riverbank restoration and improvements, the arrangement of Techo Thipadei Park, as well as the preparation of a pedestrian street to boost night-time tourism activities. Indeed, the improvement of creative physical infrastructure and support facilities, along with projects to build statues representing the province’s identity, serve as attractive and high value-added products for the tourism sector.
